IT experts around the world have been working on fixes to stop the spread of "WannaCry" ransomware that has hit thousands of computers in 99 countries. The Xinhua news agency in China said secondary schools and universities were hit by the WannaCry ransomware, but did not say how many or identify them. An official said it wasn't yet clear whether the hospital, which he declined to name, had been hit by the ransomware or some other malware. Thailand has been mentioned as one of 99 countries where the ransomware was said to have infected computers, but details of businesses or institutions affected were not yet known. And the global security software company Trend Micro said ransomware, along with exploit kits and ATM malware, represented the biggest cybersecurity threats locally.
